Applications for enrolment at PhD study programs

Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences announces the beginning of the application period for the following PhD study programs:

  • Economics in the "Economics" and Banking and Finance" profiles;

  • Political Science and International Relations;

  • Business Administration.

Eligibility to apply to the PhD programme

The persons who are eligible for admission to the PhD programme should:

a) have obtained a Master of Science/Master of Arts, integrated second cycle studies or any other equivalent diploma in the field of the Doctorate (PhD) program or in a close field previously defined in the requirements established by the respective of the Scientific Committee;
b) have a CGPA of at least 2.70 out of 4.00 or 8 out of 10 from the Master of Science/Master of Arts, integrated second cycle studies or any other equivalent diploma in the field of the Doctorate (PhD) program or in a close field previously defined in the requirements established by the respective Scientific Committee or an equivalent CGPA;
c) Applicants must demonstrate that they have reached the minimum acceptable level of proficiency in use of the English language:

i. having studied undergraduate degree in English;
ii. a TOEFL IBT score of at least 70; or
iii.  the equivalent score for the internationally recognized English Language Exams as stipulated in the Directive of the Minister of Education and Sport No. 14, dated 28.03.2011 "On the recognition of English language exams for the second and third cycle study programs"

Application checklist

For enrolment at the PhD programs, the applicant should submit the following documents to the Student Selection and Admission Office:

a) An original or a notarized copy of the Master of Science/Master of Arts, integrated second cycle studies or any other equivalent diploma translated into English and Albanian languages;
b) Official transcript of the first cycle (Bachelor) study program or any other equivalent study program in which are defined all the courses and grades taken by the candidate translated into English and Albanian languages;
c) Official transcript of the Master of Science/Master of Arts, integrated second cycle studies or any other equivalent study program in which are defined all the courses and grades taken by the candidate translated into English and Albanian languages;
d) If the candidate has completed the Master of Science/Master of Arts, integrated second cycle studies or any other equivalent study program in a foreign institution, he must submit also the document on the equivalence of the said studies by the Ministry of Education and Sport of the Republic of Albania translated into English language;
e) TOEFL score or score from one of the internationally recognized English Language Exams as stipulated in the Directive of the Minister of Education and Science No. 14, dated 28.03.2011 "On the recognition of English language exams for the second and third cycle study programs";
f) Two academic reference letters for the applicant;
g) Curriculum Vitae;
h) A PhD proposal in area on which the applicant would wish to prepare his/her dissertation.

Tuition fees

a) Normal tuition fee (for the first three academic years):

3000 € per academic year.

b) Tuition fee for the full-time staff of the institution:

2000 € per academic year.

c) Tuition fee for the students that have been graduated with the highest GPA in a Bachelor study program offered by Epoka University in the last two academic years:

2000 € per academic year.

d) Fee for the extension of PhD studies beyond the three academic year period: 

1000 € per academic year.

Application deadline November 8, 2013

Notifications on acceptance shall be announced by November 15, 2013.
