Nobel Peace Prize Awarded Prof. Muhammad Yunus Visited the Faculty

On November 07, 2014, during his visit in Albania on the occasion of the Social Business Week, Prof. Muhammad Yunus also visited  the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences where he had a brief meeting with members of the teaching staff of the Business Administration and Political Science and International Relations Department .

Prof. Muhammad Yunus is a  social entrepreneur, banker, economist and civil society leader who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in year 2006 for founding the Grameen Bank and pioneering the concepts of microcredit and microfinance.

With a view to the Memorandum of Understanding between Epoka University and Yunus Social Business GmbH, co-founded by Prof. Yunus, which was signed on January 22, 2013, during the meeting it was discussed on encouraging the academic staff  on teaching the theory and practice of social business within the curricula of the study programs offered by the University, thus contributing to the development of future leaders for the Social Business Movement of Albania by enabling students to apply social business principles to solve social problems in Albania.
